In recent years there has been a growing interest in certain active methodologies which, as in the case of cooperative learning, encourage students to acquire personal, social and professional skills. The twofold objective of this study is, on the one hand, to review the state of the art and to publicize the various experiences that have implemented this methodology by teachers of different subjects related to experimental sciences and, on the other hand, to encourage other teachers in these areas to become aware of the advantages and opportunities that this active methodology offers. The research concludes that cooperative learning is an appropriate methodology for teaching the experimental sciences, as it promotes the acquisition of skills and improves the academic performance of students, regardless of the stage of education and the subject in question.
