In the article we describe the use of cognitive maps to analyse science teachers' conceptions from questionnaire ICDE ( lnventory of Teachers' Pedagogical and Epistemological Beliefs), designed and tested by Peme-Aranega et al. ( 1999), and semi structured interviews. The representation by means of cognitive maps gives an unfragmented overall picture of teacher’s beliefs, and favors the metacognition, because it allows each teacher to reflect about his/her conceptions.
