Abstract

In the present study we displayed some results obtained in an investigation made in the University of the Basque Country, titled "Determining of the tasks of the university educational function: a methodological proposal to form an educational model in the UPVIEHU ".

The investigation moves in the perspective of the university quality, the identification of models of educational performance that satisfy the necessities and expectations with the pupils, the improvement of the education-learning processes and mainly, of the professional development of the university teaching staff. Also is framed in an investigation current that considers that the knowledge of the thought and the perceptions of the teaching staff and the pupils is an important source of intelligence to know and to include/understand diverse educative subjects better.

From a theoretical model of university educational function, a Questionnaire was developed (Arbizu, 1994), of 130 supposed tasks that conform it, to recognize the perception of the protagonists of teaching, - pupils and teaching staff of our University. We tried to indicate the levels of responsibility that the teaching staff assumes in relation to the tasks of the process education-learning of university teaching, the levels of fulfilment of the same ones that declares, and thus to compare the differences between perceived execution and showed responsibility.
