The article presents a critical reflection on the elements that structure teaching function and that make up the professional field and disciplinary code of the social sciences based on the case study of Castilla y León autonomous community. It aims to demonstrate how, while defects in teaching and learning process are generally attributed to the methodology used by teachers, there are a whole series of elements outside of them that condition their work. In the case of the rural world, this problem is compounded by a gap between the characteristics of the students which are increasingly similar to those of urban environments and the means by which teachers have. It proposes a didactic that resist administrative and bureaucratic formalisms to discover to the students the challenges of neoliberal globalization from the closest examples.
