In this report, we will show the importance of analysing the self - concept of pupils with special educational needs in relation to their blindness or visual handicap. The overall aim of this study will be to search foz solutions or orientations uhich will allone for better and truer integration of blind and visually handicaped pupils, into the ordinary educational environment, in order to obtain the complete normalization personal autonomy of the individual. We will examine the legal basis on wich the integration of students with special educational needs is based, and, at the same time, the references established by the legal basis related to the psychosocial variables which facilitate this integration. We will come up with a meaningful definition of self- concept and we will explore the reality of life far blind and visually handicaped pupils vohen it is time for them to work on their own self - image
