Abstract

During COVID-19, in Spain, a period of virtual teaching was necessary. The objective of this study is to inquire about the virtual experience in Extremadura, from three perspectives: that of students with educational needs, that of their families and that of specialist support teachers in Therapeutic Pedagogy and Hearing and Language. The method used is mixed. Three Likert-type scale questionnaires are designed, as well as semi-structured interviews, and it is applied to a sample of different educational centers, both ordinary and Special Education. The results show certain shortcomings during this virtual period, both in planning by the teaching staff and in the lack of technological resources and Digital Competence by the teaching staff, students and their families. Therefore, the need for adequate training in digital skills in educational centers is highlighted.
